One of those Days...
Yes, today was definitely one of those days. The kind where you don't get anything done that you intended to...and vise versa. The afternoon proved to be so frustrating that all you can do is laugh. At one point I was ready to scream for Callgon! Mason was working on a school project that is due Monday. I made plans with Ashley (a.k.a. Grabbie) to meet her for dinner so I called for Connor and Kate to come downstairs to get ready. As Kate makes her way down the stairs, she mentions casually that she got "slime" on her clothes. Well, not only did she get it all over her clothes - but she had it in her HAIR! This "slime" was one of those "treats" Mason got from the treasure basket at school. It looks like it came straight from a show off Nickelodeon. So, of course Kate started crying when she realized it was in the curls - which made Ethan start crying. I proceed to wash Kate's hair and then my cell phone rings. I ignore it and know I'll call whoever back. Then the house phone rings. Mason answers the phone and brings it to me. Granddad - calling about Spencer (who we are dog-sitting). Cell phone rings again. Finish Kate's hair. Pick up Ethan - who is SCREAMING. Change his diaper. Michael calls - having difficulty catching flight home and needs me to look up another flight on the Internet. While I am sitting down at the computer, Granddad shows up to pick up Spencer. Because Spencer is leaving, Rocky (our Yorkie pup) is going crazy. Then Kate gets sad because Granddad is leaving, taking Spencer, and neither of then is joining us for dinner. Grabbie shows up. Go to dinner. Come home. Kids want to know if they can stay up to see Dad. Dad calls to inform us they before he could fly home he needed to return a laser to an office that was currently closed and couldn't get in touch with anyone to come open it. So, he won't make it home. Kate cries herself to sleep. I'm exhausted. Tomorrow we are supposed to go to Houston. I have to do laundry ALL day in order to have clothes to pack. Sure to be a fun weekend.....
