It has been such a crazy week. Tuesday evening Connor had his kindergarten program. He had so much fun! This was the first program where he actually sang and did all the motions! It was awesome to see him enjoy it so much. Afterwards Granda wanted to take everyone to Chick.fil.A for dessert.
This is Connor's teacher - Mrs. Long. It's obvious in the picture that he loves her!
On Wednesday we got to see Baby Tessa again, but I didn't have my camera with me so I don't have an updated picture. Thursday we were gone literally all day. After school, Connor went to his new reading tutor (Ms. Molly) for the first time. Then Mason had karate. And afterwards we went to dinner with Granda. It was after 8:00 when we got home. Then I was up half the night with a SCREAMING baby! He was scratching his ears so badly that he actually brought blood. I knew it had to be an ear infection. I would have to get him to the doctor tomorrow.
Friday Connor's class had their field trip at the zoo (Along with EVERY kindergarten class in the entire DFW metroplex) Unfortunately, they had all of the students entering in a different line from the parents. Connor's class was one of the first ones through the line. So, once Kate, Ethan, and I made our way through the long line of parents we went to find his class. When his teacher saw me her eyes popped out of her head. She said, "You don't have Connor?"
"No." I replied. "We just got in." I don't need to explain the sheer panic that raced within me. I guarantee you my blood pressure and pulse were higher then they have been in a VERY long time. In that instant you just want everyone to STOP! and STAND STILL. But everyone keeps moving. And you feel like they are moving in circles around you. I felt like I was in a movie and a bad dream all at once. But it was reality and my precious little boy was lost at the zoo...with THOUSANDS of people. I didn't know if I should stand still and wait for him to find me. Or if I should start RUNNING and SCREAMING out his name. After standing for a bit, and feeling completely hopeless I prayed that God would just bring him to me out of nowhere. And sure enough, just a few minutes later, I looked up just at the right time and saw Connor sitting on a bench watching the gorillas! THANK YOU, LORD! My heart smiled. My eyes filled with tears. I questioned why on earth God let me have four children when I obviously can't keep up with them. But, for now, we were all safe again and I had to try and enjoy the zoo. We had a great time and left the zoo close to noon.
This was the first time we have ever seen an elephant taking a bath! It was pretty cool - and the kids just loved it!
When leaving the zoo we saw a car in the parking lot catch on fire. I just thought it was crazy before. Then all of the Fort Worth fire dept. showed up. I got out of there as quickly as I could.
After grabbing a quick bite to eat, we headed for the pediatrician. Ethan's ears were NORMAL. But he's been running a fever for almost three weeks. (One week he had a fever virus - but the others have no real explanation) They couldn't find any reason for the fever - nor the pain. So, she ordered blood tests, urine tests (which meant he had to have a catheter), and chest and tummy X-rays. (Did I mention through any of this that Michael is out of town? :) Why do these things always happen when Daddys are gone?)
Before 6pm all of the results came back and EVERYTHING was completely normal. Dr. Hull called me at home and explained that she thought this just might be the worse case of teething she's seen in a REALLY long time. Usually when a baby is teething they don't run a constant fever for weeks. But thanks be to God Almighty, she offered some relief. She actually suggested she call in a prescription for Tylenol with codeine. YES, YES, YES! She knows I don't like pumping the kids with meds. But he is obviously in major pain and the rest of us are MISERABLE! So, I told her very quickly that we would GLADLY take the meds!!
So, around 7:30 we left town as planned to go to Shreveport for my cousin's graduation. I hope my weekend is less eventful!

What an update! I feel like I was right there with the elephant taking a bath and the car on fire!! hee hee!!
And is it just me or does Mrs. Long look EXACTLY like what teacher should look like? does that make sense? Like if you looked up the word "teacher" in the dictionary...you would see a picture of Mrs. Long!! :)
