Today is definitely the best day of the week!
Michael is home!!!!! He has been out of town since Wednesday. Originally we didn't think he would be back until sometime this evening, but things wrapped up a little ahead of schedule and he was able to get an early flight this morning. Infact, he made it to church!
And we LOVE a new parenting seminar we started today! It's called "Value-packed Parenting" by Dr. Kevin Leman. There is a video each of the 7 weeks and a workbook. Dr. Leman is hysterical in the video and already I am very impressed with his teaching. I am excited and looking forward to the following weeks. I can't wait to learn everything he has to offer!! I would HIGHLY recommend this study!!!!
Today is also a great day because I left this morning and came home after church to a PERFECTLY clean garage!!! WWWAAAHHHOOO!! My neighbor had a garage sale on Saturday and offered me to join her. So, I added a lot of "baby" things that Ethan didn't use any longer and a majority of the things that didn't sale in the last garage sale in April. So, after clearing out some of the junk, I really got motivated. I got out the hammer and nails to hang stuff up. I got out the ladder to put stuff that belonged on top shelves that was currently on the floor because of convenience. I cleaned off Michael's work bench/tool desk that looked more like a pile of ....junk, for lack of a better term. I rearranged. I swept. And swept. And swept a little more. And at this point I have to brag on my children. Ethan slept almost the entire time (over THREE hours!), Kate and Connor played with the one train set that didn't sell in the garage sell, and Mason helped me for the most part. They did great. Every mother knows that if they had not done so well, the garage project would still not be complete.
Oh - and something funny....I had Mason help me by spraying down a few things with the water hose. He left it running so Connor came along and picked it up. He started watering the flower beds. Fine. But that led to "watering" the drive way. I told him at that point he was wasting water so he needed to put it down. When he "threw" it down, the spray nozzle hit the concrete and so it sprayed a little more....right into Kate's face. She was ticked. But honestly, it was so funny! I think because she got in trouble earlier for spraying the boys (deliberately) and this just "happened" when she didn't expect it. Well, at least the boys and I had a great laugh!
After their hard work (did I mention they also helped me put out EVERYTHING for the garage sale) we went out to eat at the Hibachi restaurant with Aunt Grabbie. My children LOVE that place! I think Connor ate more than Ashley and I combined...and Ethan came in a close second!
Well, that's all for now. Hope each of you is having a great day and may you have a blessed week!
