Jeremiah 29: 11-14

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you."

New look

Obviously, I decided to update. The previous picture is from last Christmas and Ethan was only a few months old. Now that he's a year old the picture was in desperate need of updating. I was really anxious to do a new Christmas themed blog, but I will wait until after Thanksgiving.

Speaking of waiting, I am amazed at the number of housed I've seen that already have their Christmas lights up. No kidding. (My neighbor is the only one with a valid excuse...she's having surgery at the end of the week and won't be able to be on her feet for six weeks.) Those people obviously don't listen to KLTY...keep the thanks in Thanksgiving...by waiting to celebrate/decorate/sing...about Christmas until the day after Thanksgiving. Give each season it's due time. I see our society rushing too much...

...rushing our children to grow up...rushing to finish school...rushing to buy a new car, house, whatever...rushing to get to church..and then rushing to leave...rushing to eat...and then eating too much too quickly...rushing to put on makeup, do the hair, put on the right outfit....rushing to look "together" just to rush around town. What are you rushing to do today? Where are you rushing to go?

Slow down. Enjoy the season. Take time to read the Word. To spend time with Him. Spend an extra ten minutes with your children sitting in your lap. Take time to laugh. Take time to be creative. Take time to bake your favorite treat. Take time to call a friend and then take the time to listen. Take the time to make sure those around you know they are loved. Take time. Enjoy...
