Jeremiah 29: 11-14

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you."

Kate cooking...

On Monday the Collins family came for a short visit. Toi and her Mom went with Michael and I to the Celine Dion concert Monday evening. (BTW...it was incredible! Definately a night to remember!)

They left to return home Tuesday morning and Kate was sad once she realized that Micah was returning to HOUSTON so she wouldn't be able to play again for quite a while. So, somehow, through trying to console my daughter, I managed to promise to let her bake today with her new Easy Bake oven.

She woke up this morning asking if she could get her baking stuff out. After Mason's doctor appointment and a few erronds, we began to bake.

And let me just take a moment to say that the person or persons who designed the Easy Bake Oven and Receipes should be shot. (Okay, that's way too harsh....but they should most definately be fired.) You are set up for failure the moment you begin. It always requires more water than what they list. They when you finally get the silly little cake pan in the oven, the cake rises (definately not a concept they anticipated); because, once the cake rises, you can't get it out of the one inch opening without taking off the top layer. It always requires more baking time, also. But you don't know this until you take it out the first time. So, you get the honor of "beheading" the cake a second time. This was a two layer cake, so we repeated this nasty cycle twice.

Although Momma wasn't exactly thrilled with the process, Kate had a blast! Enjoy the pictures!

This is the cake Kate made just for her Daddy. It is supposed to be a smiling face. And Michael gets Daddy of the year award becuase he actually ate it...all of it!!!!
