I've posted several pictures of my kitchen recently after we painted the cabinets. (You can see the transformation here) There hasn't been much change since then. I'm still waiting (eagerly) for new granite countertops. I know they'll make a huge difference! Until then...
The kitchen leads directly into our breakfast nook, and then to the living room.
Our living room is a large open room. We love the "open-ness" (is that a word?). However, trying to make it feel warm became a challenge. After living in our home about two years, I found a friend-of-a-friend who makes custom drapes. She gave me the idea to use the drapes to brind the room "down" to just one level. I think she did a fabulous job. Adding the curtains made a HUGE improvement.

We had a large blank wall above the fireplace until we found this painting. I love it. Looks like a Kinkaid, but no original $ here!
This small table is a new addition in our foryer.
On the other side of our kitchen, a doorway leads to the formal dinning room. In this picture you see the front door.
In this room the same seamstress made these drapes and matching runner for the table.
Several piece of art in this room we bought on a trip to Paris. We bought them from local artists down on the river (Toi, are you laughing now?! :)I brought them home and added frames and a mat.
This particular piece I got from Toi's mom. We love it because it is an opera house that is located in Paris. And we actually went there during our visit.
